Modul Fit CPR
BRIEF TECHNOLOGY
Modul FIT CPR highlights the 5T CPR technique developed by researchers, specifically designed for the Nusantara community. The 5T CPR steps—Tengok (Look), Tegur (Ask), Teriak (Shout) or Telefon (Call), Teliti (Check), and Tekan (Press)—simplify Basic Life Support (BLS) training by incorporating local language and cultural understanding into the learning process.
INSPIRATION OF THE INVENTION
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills should be made mandatory for all Malaysians. Since 2010, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has been a leading institution in life support training in Malaysia and was among the earliest international training centers for the American Heart Association (AHA) in the country. Through its CPR research team from the Department of Emergency Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, UKM has successfully developed a unique approach to teaching basic life support known as the 5T CPR technique, which uses the national language to enhance understanding and acceptance.
PROBLEM STATEMENT & CURRENT ISSUES
This module combines physical fitness (FIT) with life-saving skills (CPR). It offers practical, engaging, and easy-to-follow training. In addition to increasing awareness and first aid skills among students or the community, this structured educational module is highly suitable for use in schools, colleges, or community programs.
INVENTIVENESS & NOVELTY
This module combines elements of physical fitness (FIT) with life-saving skills (CPR). It provides practical, engaging, and easy-to-follow training. In addition to raising awareness and enhancing first aid skills among students or the community, this structured educational module is highly suitable for use in schools, colleges, or community settings.
USEFULNESS & APPLICATION
The module aims to enhance basic CPR knowledge and skills among non-professionals such as students, teachers, and the general public. By integrating physical fitness elements with CPR techniques, it offers a more engaging, active, and easy-to-understand learning experience. This module not only provides practical emergency response training but also fosters awareness of heart health and human values such as empathy and social responsibility. With its flexible application, the module is suitable for use in schools, NGOs, and community programs, helping to empower a more alert and prepared society in facing emergencies.
IMPACT OF THE PRODUCT
The module has a positive impact on both individuals and the community. It helps people, especially students, teachers, and the public, learn and practice CPR, making them more confident and ready to help during emergencies. This can increase the chances of saving lives before medical help arrives.
By combining CPR with fitness activities, the module also encourages people to live a healthier lifestyle and take care of their heart health. It makes learning more fun, active, and easy to remember.
This module also builds a caring and responsible attitude, especially among young people. It teaches them to be more aware of others and ready to help in times of need.
Because the module is flexible, it can be used in schools, communities, and other organizations, making it useful for many groups and helping to create a more prepared and health-conscious society.
MARKET POTENTIAL
This module has strong market potential because more people today want to learn basic life-saving skills like CPR, especially in a simple and active way. In schools and universities, the module can be used as part of health or physical education classes to teach students about CPR and heart health. Community groups and NGOs can also use it for health programs, especially in areas where formal CPR training is not easily available. In the workplace, companies can use the module to train staff as part of their health and safety programs. The module can also be turned into digital content (like videos or online lessons), making it easier to share with more people at a low cost.
